Called In Sic
Former Bam Bam members Scotty Buttocks, Tommy Martin, & Tom Hendrickson, with Scotty's son Ryan Ledgerwood on bass. Heavy fast cynical fun!!
Founded by Bam Bam original bassist Scotty 'Buttocks' Ledgerwood and son Ryan Ledgerwood in 2002. Bam Bam's 2nd drummer Tom Hendrickson joined in 2003.
Called In Sick bashed it out for 7 years as a 3 piece punk band, doing shitloads of shows and putting out several releases including "Gosh I'm Sorry", "I Consume", and "I Am An American".
Bam Bam guitarist Tommy Martin, invited as a guest for one song in 2010, was invited to stay on for the completion of the album. Instead he joined permanently! Former Prince keyboardist Mark Cardenas sat in on several tracks as well.
Drawing from earlier & broader influences, They then dropped the 'K' and blended the 3 piece Called In Sic punk with Bam Bam's grunge metal and morphed into a grunge metal punk hybrid of themselves.
Bam Bam was the 1st Seattle band to work with producer Chris Hanzsek and Reciprocal Recording Studios. In 1984 they released what many say was Seattle's first grunge record: the ep "Villains Also Wear White". {Billboard Magazine, Sept 17 2011}.
1984 also saw the release of Bam Bam's single "Ground Zero" from those same sessions.
Renewing that relationship, Called In Sic worked again with Chris Hanzsek on their "New Truth" sessions, producing (among others) "Non Existent Girlfriend", "Broken Ball", "New Truth", and "Tourist Traps" with an accompanying video made especially for the 2015 Seattle Hempfest.
During Called In Sic's "New Truth" sessions, whispers of a possible Bam Bam reunion began to materialize when, after a couple years of gentle coaxing, Tina Bell and Scotty 'Buttocks' Ledgerwood started writing music together again.
They had two solid tracks in work (in addition to her assistance on Called In Sic's "Non Existent Girlfriend" and "Not All I've Learned Was Necessary") when all plans for a Bam Bam reunion were quickly dashed by the heart wrenching death of Tina Bell on Oct 10, 2012.
After several years, shows & recordings with Called In Sic, Tommy Martin died Oct 16, 2019.
